The impact of Environment on day to day life is huge that technology is coming up with new devices to cope up with the changing climatic conditions. We saw refrigerators, air conditioners, air purifiers and other electronic devices occupying household names. Of many products that challenge the changing dynamics of atmosphere HVAC is also a prominent one which aims at providing indoor air quality and thermal comfort. It is more of modern mechanical engineering put in to practical application. It uses laws of Thermo dynamics, refrigeration, and transfer of heat to discharge the functions. Hence the acronym HVAC stands for “heating, ventilating and air conditioning.” Its primary motto is to enable circulation of free and healthy air inside the prescribed structure. First installation should be done by a professional electrician and procurement of hvac parts online is not a great task. They can also be purchased from home supply stores and construction outlets.
Parts of a HVAC system:
Furnace: This is a big part that is fixed at the basement or closet. There is another part called Duct through which the Furnace sends hot water, air or steam all through the building. The vents enable so passed air to enter in to various rooms of the building.
Heat exchangers: These are the internal parts of every furnace. Once the furnace starts operating, heat exchangers also begin to absorb air in it which comes either from outside or from separate ducts which pass cool air that is received from various parts of the building. These are used when the climate is very cool and hot air is needed.
Evaporator coil: These are also part of the furnace but are fixed to a metal box that is attached to the side of or at the top of the furnace. These are used when cool air is needed in the same way as heat exchanger which uses vents and ducts to pass air. Evaporator coils are fixed on to the exteriors of the building to a part called condensing unit which helps in passing cool air.
Condensing unit: This acts like an air conditioner and is installed away from furnace. The hot air outside is cooled in it and is condensed in to liquid. The so cooled water travels through a metal tube and reaches the evaporator coil which consists of tiny nozzles that sprinkles water. This reduces its pressure and turns in to cold gas again. It is during this process that air is evaporated and cold air is supplied throughout the building.
Thermostat: Thermostat is the device which is fixed on a wall and has complete user control. It can sense temperature changes and sends signals to the furnace accordingly. If it is cold outside, heat exchangers blow hot air and if it is cold the evaporator coil and condensing unit start functioning allowing cold air pass through the building.
Apart from these there are vents and ducts which are metallic frames where arrangement is made to allow vents to be installed in Ducts. These Ducts are attached to the ceiling. All these hvac parts online can be obtained at economic rates if surfed carefully.
