Different types of cutting are made according to the weight and their flaws. The diamond cutting process is decided by the diamond cutters who are experts in cutting.

Another type of gemstone that is used for cutting is the emerald. There are many different types of emeralds in colors that ranges from bluish green to yellowish green. People love this stone because of its unique color and powerful characteristics. There are many different types of cuts for emerald, but the most popular ones are the trap cuts or the step cuts. The shapes of the emerald cuts are much similar to the shapes of the diamond such as Princess, Cushion and Round.

The two examples shown above will give us an insight of the different shapes the gemstones are cut into. The main reason for cutting the gemstones into different shapes is to make them polished and add the shiny look. The other reason is that the gemstones look really attractive when they are cut into specific shapes and brings out their actual color and the characteristics they have.
